21LC 02 002 - Supporting Children with Sensory Processing Difficulties in the Classroom (3- part workshop)

These Zoom Meetings take place on Monday 15th February, Monday 8th and the final meeting on Monday 22nd March 2021.

*N.B. This is a more in depth version of the Sensory workshop presented by the same facilitators on the 7th December 2020 . Although all of the material is covered in more detail some of the content from the 2 hour workshop is repeated *

 Would you like to learn about children’s sensory needs?

Together with other teachers and SNA’s you will learn to understand more about the sensory systems and find solutions to sensory behaviours which may be causing stress at school. The workshop includes practical strategies for sensory regulation to maximise learning.

Who should attend this workshop?

The workshop is aimed at teachers and SNA’s of children aged 4-12, with sensory processing difficulties which may be part of Sensory Processing Disorder, Autism, ADHD, or other conditions.

What will be covered in the 3 sessions?

Session 1: The senses, sensory processing , stress and sensory processing.

Session 2: Communication , environmental and other factors that may affect a child’s sensory processing.

Session 3: Typical sensory processing patterns in conditions such as ASD, ADHD, DCD Joint hypermobility & Case study discussions.
