What is nanoscience? It is the science of VERY small materials. It is a relatively new field of science that could possibly facilitate the greatest technological leap in history.
Nanotechnology is also already having major societal impact, from new technologies and advanced medical equipment, to sports equipment and space exploration.
AMBER, a scientific research centre in Trinity College, has produced a pack of lessons for senior primary school children to introduce them to the wonder of nanoscience.
‘Nano’ lessons teach children about materials on a very, very, very small scale and allow them to predict, discuss and imagine what their own future might be like.
The lessons involve ‘hands on’ activities, group work and critical thinking.
If you think the children in your class would like an introduction to this cutting edge science please come along to our Teacher’s Interactive Nanoscience Workshop:
Target Teachers: Senior Primary (3rd-6th Class)
Please note*: No prior knowledge of Nanoscience is needed to attend this workshop
