We are bringing our face-to-face course virtually to your home. Our course caters specifically for those teachers that enjoy the hands-on interaction and discussion of a face-to-face course. Here’s what some teachers who attended last year had to say about the course: “The course was outstanding” “I generally favour face to face courses as opposed to online, in the past they tended to be didactic and didn’t allow for interaction. However, this course enabled us to interact with one another, to engage, to contribute and make our own presentations”. “I felt the range of issues touched upon were so important in today’s context.” During this course we will help you to teach children about climate change, in a hands-on and practical way through inquiry-based learning. We will look at the science behind climate change and the role of space exploration in understanding our planet and its processes. You will learn how to teach about this important topic in a positive and solutions focused way. The course looks at the links between climate change and wellbeing by connecting children with the natural world and involving them in simple positive changes in school and at home. The course has links to SESE, with integration of other curriculum areas such as numeracy and literacy. The course will make use of a range of resources from SEAI, Discover Primary Science and Maths (DPSM) and the European Space Education Resource Office (ESERO)
