Message from the Director

Dear Colleagues,

I hope this email finds you and all of your families safe and well.

In these unprecedented times, at Blackrock EC, we wish to support your work in your schools in any way we can.

We are currently exploring ways of bringing our courses to you online. Now, more than ever, our provision of local courses, specific to your local need, is of utmost importance to us. Therefore, we would ask that you please take a minute to complete the attached ‘Google Form’ to let us know in what ways you would like us to support your work.

Please follow the link below to complete this short form

It will take no more than a minute or two to tell us how we can support you. We will do our very best to help in any way we can.

We will also be in touch with you regularly with more links and information on courses we can facilitate. We are currently working with our regular facilitators and coordinators to organise this provision. To begin with, in the coming weeks, we will be hosting, online, our regular support groups – Principals, Deputy Principals, Infant Teachers, ASD agus Grúpa Tacaíochta Príomhoidí Gaelscoileanna. We will be in touch with dates for these webinars.

In order to prepare us for these online meetings, we will be co-hosting webinars to update our skills in this area. Our first webinar on Zoom will take place tomorrow afternoon, Wednesday 22nd April at 3pm. Please follow the link below to book a place for you or any of your colleagues.

This webinar will be followed up by further sessions to support those of us who will engage in this online platform.

All of our online courses and information which we think will be of use to you, we are putting out on our Twitter account @blackrockec and @SusanGibneyBEC and on our website  Please check regularly for new updates.

As we work in partnership with the network of 21 Education Centres around Ireland (ESCI) other information and resources can also be found on our ESCI Twitter account @escitweets. You may wish to access a variety of great resources from any of our partner education centres nationwide.

We wish you well in the coming term and all that it may bring, and we hope that we will both meet you online, and see you face-to-face again, very soon.

Please do not hesitate to contact us by email with any queries you may have.

Take care and stay safe.

Kindest regards,

Dr Susan Gibney
